‘Don’t Touch When Wet’ is a project that sits within my formal interest in the expanded field of painting and investigates the symbolism and semiotics of water and cloth—stretching from the nonsecular and ritualistic to the hedonism of consumer culture and objectification embodied by the classic wet T-shirt contest started in Spain in the 1940’s.
