July was a very busy month in Berlin—4 new projects, 4 exhibitions.

It was an incredibly exciting and exhausting, but completely fullfilling artistic period, working alongside a diverse group of artists from around the world and engaging with the talented Berlin-based contemporary artists Alexandra Leykauf, Eva Berendes, Yngve Holen and Friederike Feldmann.

Complementing the studio work was an active critical discourse on Contemporary art practice today, including talks and studio visits with the likes of Kristine Siegel of Praxes, Marcus Steinweg, Nina Tabassomi, Sven Lütticken, Kolja Reichert, Uta Grosenick, Andreas Koch, Johan Holten and Jennifer Allen, among others.

Special thanks go out to the Autocenter team for all your support, brilliant organisation and general good times— Joep, Maik, Karola, Simone, Mark and Felicitas, in particular. Miss you!

AUTOCENTER

Selected for Autocenter Summer Academy — ASCA14
Autocenter Space for Contemporary Art, Berlin
4 week Residency

I will be resident the month of July in Berlin for the Autocenter Summer Academy working with Alexandra Leykauf, Eva Berendes, Yngve Holen (Ars Viva 2014-15) and Friederike Feldmann along with engaging with a range of other international artists, curators, gallerists, writers and academics.

Autocenter Space for Contemporary Art is characterized by its autonomy, openness and workshop attitude - a crucial premise for setting up new formats of artistic exchange that is invaluable for young artists. It is about artistic experimentation beyond the confines of curatorial concern and limitation.

Founded in 2001 by artists Maik Schierloh and Joep van Liefland in an auto body shop as a not-for-profit space for art beyond the hierarchies of the art market, Autocenter is known as “the” independent platform for showcasing Berlin’s artistic production—inviting international visual artists to present their ideas and visions to an advanced audience.

Exhibitions will be held every Saturday of the month.
