Artist Residency

The Cut Arts Centre, Suffolk

Artwork development, talks and public presentation

15 - 24 June, 2024

This month, I had the privilege of participating in a short residency at The Cut Arts Centre as part of their inaugural ‘Summer Project’ in Halesworth, UK.

The time away provided a productive disruption from the everyday, enabling me to focus on key questions emerging within my studio practice—working alongside a diverse set of artists and in close dialogue with mentors Eddie Peake, Elsa James and Liselle Terret around the theme of identity.

Complementing individual studio work was an active critical discourse on contemporary art practice, including talks with invited guests Harold Offeh, Lewis Dalton Gilbert, Amanda Geitner, Studio Antimundo (Oscar Santillan), Invisible Flock and Bruce McLean, among others.

To mark the end of this intense period, I presented a new painting, 'Very Meta (200731), 2024', at the public opening 23rd July. This marks a new development within my practice that builds on the research and development surrounding 'NTIME' initiated in 2020.

I extend special thanks to Kasia Posen, Tony Casement and the rest of the amazing team at The Cut for their support and organisation throughout this ambitious project.
